Consumer Complaint Process

The Board of Barbering and Cosmetology handles complaints involving: gross negligence and/or incompetence; unsanitary conditions in establishments and schools of barbering, cosmetology, and electrology, unlicensed practice of barbering, cosmetology and electrology; and misrepresentation/false advertising of services.

All complaints must be submitted to the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology in writing. The Board will provide a "CONSUMER COMPLAINT FORM" for you to complete and mail in. The use of these forms is NOT mandatory. The Board accepts all written complaints. Please provide the Board with as much information as possible in the initial complaint, including receipts and photographs. This will aid the Board's Enforcement Division staff in handling your complaint. Address complaints to:
